Event 1: Hackathon - WINCOM 2024
WINCOM 2024 is organising a Hackathon open to students (undergraduate and postgraduate), postdoctoral researchers, engineers, or professionals. The event will focus on the challenges and innovations in wireless communications. This year, we encourage participants to explore data-driven solutions to current problems in wireless communication, leveraging the latest advancements in deep learning.
Event Overview
The WINCOM 2024 Hackathon aims to foster collaboration and creativity. Participants can bring their unique datasets and ideas to address the challenges in network technology, IoT, and telecommunications and provide data-driven solutions. Teams will have the opportunity to develop research prototypes and engineering applications, showcasing their innovative solutions and novel concepts.
Participation Details
Team Formation: Participants are encouraged to form teams of up to four members. Interested individuals can also join existing teams during the initial webinar.
Idea Submission: Teams must submit their project ideas by 30 June 2024. This submission should outline the problem area and identify the dataset.

Evaluation Criteria
Projects will be evaluated based on the significance of the research contribution, potential impact, implementation quality, and presentation. The committee will consist of experts in AI, networking, IoT, and telecommunications. The best projects will be recognised during the closing ceremony of WINCOM 2024, and awards will be presented for the best research prototype.
Submission Guidelines and Registration
Registration: At least one member of each team must register for WINCOM 2024 to participate in the Hackathon.
Proposal Format: Teams should prepare a brief description of their project idea to be submitted by the specified deadline.

We look forward to seeing your innovative solutions and celebrating the advancements in wireless communication technology at WINCOM 2024.
Event 2: Demo - WINCOM 2024
Demonstrations showcasing working systems, innovative applications, groundbreaking ideas, and novel concepts related to the field of WINCOM 2024 conference are welcome. An ad-hoc committee will evaluate the different demos/prototypes during the conference. An award for the best demo for engineering application and research prototype will be presented at the WINCOM 2024 in the closing ceremony.
Submission Guidelines for Demo
Prospective contributors are expected to turn in a Demo proposal as a 2-page paper, preferably incorporating a demo system architecture illustration. Demo papers will be reviewed and accepted papers will not be included in electronic conference proceedings.
Demo papers should be submitted via the form below by June 16, 2024; acceptance notifications will be sent no later than June 24, 2024. The Demo proposals will be reviewed by the WINCOM 2024 Innovation projects and demo program committee and will be approved based on the availability of demo space as well as on the following criteria:
At least one author of each accepted demo proposal is required to register for the WINCOM 2024 and present their Innovation projects and demo at the scheduled Demo session.
Authors of an accepted demo proposal can optionally bring an A1-size poster for display during the date of the demonstration.
Important dates
Submit your proposal and optional poster through this form.
