Biography : Dr Adel Belouchrani was born in Algiers, ALGERIA, on 5 May 1967. He received the State Engineering degree in 1991 from the Ecole Nationale Polytechnique (ENP) of Algiers, ALGERIA and the M.Sc. degree in Signal Processing from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG), FRANCE, in 1992, and the Ph. D. degree in the field of signal and image processing from EcoleNationale Superieure des Telecommunications (ENST), Paris, FRANCE, in 1995. From 1995 to 1996, he has been a visiting scholar at the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences Department of University of California at Berkeley, USA, working on fast adaptive blind equalization and carrier phase tracking. From 1996 to 1997, he was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Villanova University, Pennsylvania, USA, as research associate. During this period, he was also a consultant to Comcast Inc. During February 1997, he has been a visiting scientist at Laboratory for Artificial Brain System, Riken, JAPAN. From August 1997 to October 1997, he has been with Alcatel ETCA, BELGIUM, working on Very high speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL): Modem architecture design. Since November 1997, Dr Belouchrani is with the Electrical Engineering Department of the EcoleNationale Polytechniqueof Algiers, ALGERIA, as Assistant Professor (from 1998 to 2000), as Associate Professor (from 2001 to 2005), as Full Professor (since 2006), where he is in charge of the following lectures: Signal Processing, Digital Communications, Estimation Theory, Array Signal Processing, Time Frequency Analysis He has been, from August to September for both 2000 and 2001, a visiting researcher at Brain Signal Processing Laboratory, Brain Science Institute, Riken, JAPAN. He has been from May to June 2001, a visiting scholar at Department of Cognitive Science of University of California at San Diego, USA. From July to September 2003, he had a sabbatical stay at the signal and image processing department of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST) of Paris (France). From December 2003 to January 2004, he has been an invited professor at Telekom Malaysia RnD, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In May 2005, he has been invited professor at Laboratoire Electronique, Informatique et Image (LE2I) CNRS UMR 5158, Université de Bourgogne, Dijon, France. During March 2006 and June 2008, he has been as full professor (Professeur 1er Clase) with Laboratoire d’Analyse des Signaux et Production Industrielle (LASPI), Université de Jean Monnet Sait Etienne, Roanne, France. During February 2009, he has been lecturer at L’Ecole Supérieure de Communications, ‘’SupCom’’, Tunis, Tunisia. In December 2013 and December 2014, Prof. Adel Belouchrani has been Visiting Professor at KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology), Thuwal, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While visiting KAUST in December 2014, he gets invited to give a talk at KFUPM (King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Adel Belouchrani has acted as vice director of the Ecole Nationale Polytechnique in charge of academic affairs from January 2003 to July 2005 and as vice director of the Ecole Nationale Polytechnique in charge of the scientific research office from February 2009 to February 2010.
